Startup Competition

HR Tech World is host to the world’s leading Startup Competition on the Future of Work and HR Technology. First staged in October 2011, it has successfully hosted 8 editions in total, including four in Amsterdam, two in London and two in Paris.

As the show has matured, what started as pro-bono work is now the must-attend show for startups; it’s where they learn how to pitch their product to fans and critics alike including entrepreneurs such as Arianna Huffington and Sir Richard Branson, thinkers and analysts like Josh Bersin, Gary Hamel and Simon Sinek, as well as investors, vendors, media - and perhaps most importantly of all - the organizations they wish to serve.

5 finalists will compete and showcase what real disruptive technology looks like. Winner takes away a trophy and €10,000 worth of sponsorship!

The exhibition showcases Category Beta startups who are in late-stage growth and are max 5-years old. Speaking slots are available to apply.

We connect Startups and Investors/VC’s by providing them with a dedicated lounge and a matchmaking tool to network!

CEO at Tandem

"I wanted to update you on some progress that we’ve made with Tandem and thank you for the part HR Tech World played in that. We have secured our seed round investment of €2m and have attracted a really great team of advisors, mentors and Board members. We have the ex CEO of Twitter, the CEO of Britebill and some high profile investors joining us to help us on our journey."

Success is the show’s best evidence

From the early days up until today. TalentBin, winner of the HR Tech World Startup Final 2012 was acquired by Monster, which has since been acquired by Randstad – all sponsors of our community. Talentbin is the talent search engine for the entire web and finds passive candidates where they are active online based on their skills, interests and actions.

HR Tech World Startup Finalist 2013 finalist Zao, the social recruitment platform that lets employees and a company’s wider network get rewarded for making job referrals, was bought by legacy UK e-recruitment company Amris, now owned by the Pixid Group.

HR Tech World 2015 saw Clustree win the competition and we’ve watched them grow rapidly from there; in June of 2017 they won another round of investment for $7.9 million. Tandem HR Solutions, winner of our 2016 startup prize, has seen their business take off with both new clients and investment funding as a direct result of their competition win.

In the last 6 months, the success of the competition and the HR Tech World speed dating standing exhibition for startups has only continued to grow. Winners and runners up have raised over $50M in investment, and that rises to over $100M in the last 12 months when considering all those involved. Our competition attracts the Who’s Who in HR Tech including Tandem HR Solutions, Textio, Beamery, Clustree, Zao, Work4Labs, and many, many more.

2018 will see HR Tech World’s Start-up Competition scale to 3 locations including London, Las Vegas (new) and Amsterdam!
